The month of July “gave” everything it should, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way…

Our advocates, volunteers, and supporters who celebrated in the month used the occasion to raise funds for the foundation.

For 2022, which is also our 10th year of existence, our goal is to provide 100+ limbs for child amputees, and by June we had already given 42 limbs.

Our lead beneficiary for the month of July was “Basit,” a lower-limb single amputee who lives in Ibadan, Nigeria with his family and wants to return back to school in September as a Champ!

One of our advocates, and members of the TIF advisory council, Mr. Iwi Iguodala aka “Bros Iwi” said he has always been motivated by the Champs of the Irede Foundation, and being an adult amputee himself who got amputated as an adult; the children constantly inspire him and he aims to continue to do his quota to ensure Children with limb loss have a ready place in the world devoid of discrimination and stigmatization.

Mr Iguoadala, who celebrated his birthday on the 20th of July, introduced “Basit” to his friends and fans on social media, and encouraged everyone to redirect funds or gifts for his birthday into cash for Basit’s limb. His Twitter page went agog with birthday wishes for him and well wishes for Basit as the tweet attracted 1,426 retweets, 1,368 likes, and replies of wishes and bank details inquiries to send money in for Basit…

In the same July, media partners Bella Naija, and Donate Ng joined us to advocate and fundraise. Also, our Reuters feature went live!

We continued to “wake up” to “good mentions” and you would agree with us that July Gave everything it should, and even more!

In August we take you back to where it all began, #TIFat10

Cheers!
